How much advance notice do you need to open, close or transfer an account?

We need at least three working days to connect or move your electricity service as long as the necessary equipment already exists. The sooner you tell us, the better.

Does it cost anything to move my service?

If you are moving or opening a new account there is a $20.00 fee plus H.S.T.

What if I’m switching to an energy retailer?

The retailer will need to provide Alectra Utilities with a copy of the contract you signed with the retailer to allow us to make the change.

Do you take a final reading of my meter?

Yes. You will be provided with a final bill and the amount will not be estimated.

Can I arrange this online?

Yes, just fill out this form. When you have completed the form, please press the Submit button. You will receive a confirmation email that we have received your registration information. Please allow us five business days to complete your registration.

What if I am not currently an Alectra Utilities customer, but will be moving to a property in Mississauga?

If you are a first time customer moving to a property within Mississauga, please complete Residential Application For Service form. Please note there is a charge to set up your account.

If you are a first-time customer moving to a property within Mississauga, please complete Residential Application For Service form. Please note there is a charge to set up your account. In addition, we may require a security deposit, and a credit check is available for a fee, or a letter of reference from another utility company may be faxed to: 905-566-2737
